Bring new, unopened school supplies to donate and be entered to win a great prize! There will be two separate prize drawings– one for children and one for adults.

Adults prize: An Amish rocking chair; Children’s Prize: A backpack filled with awesome goodies plus a gift card

In addition to traditional school supplies, consider donating items such as disinfecting wipes, baby wipes, tissues, paper towels, stickers, and other classroom essentials.


Oosoola Park Open House

Saturday, August 30 - Oosoola Park Open House (20 Ferry Rd., Norridgewock)

Rain or Shine. Join the Norridgewock Parks Committee, the Town of Norridgewock and the New Balance Foundation as we celebrate Oosoola Park, an enhanced outdoor recreational area with so many new attractions! Over the last year or so, we've added kayak and SUP rentals, swim docks, a new gazebo, accessible playground for all to enjoy, and more! 

The New Balance Foundation provided the Town with the tremendous gift of the new accessible playground equipment, making sure that all children, of all abilities, can enjoy Oosoola Park.

We'll have some fun and games, food trucks, live music, and the DARLING'S ICE CREAM FOR A CAUSE truck. DARLING'S ICE CREAM TRUCK will offer ice cream by donation. 100% of the proceeds will be split between Norridgewock Parks and Norridgewock Rec. The food truck on hand will be TURCOTTE'S TO-GO, offering a variety of seasonal options, including sandwiches, burgers, and more. LIVE MUSIC by local artist MAX THAMERT. Max plays acoustic and plays covers and originals. There will be a BOUNCE HOUSE, face painting, and other FUN, FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES. Bring the whole family, young and old. There will be something for everyone. Come and enjoy the music, come and have lunch, play on the playground, or just visit with neighbors.

Sunday, August 31 - Central Maine Regional Airport (603 Airport Rd., Norridgewock)

  • 7:00 - 11:30 am. Pancake Breakfast. $8 per plate. All proceeds to benefit the Sandy River Flying Club.
  • 8:00 am. 5k and Fun Run, sponsored by Maine Roof Solutions. No entry fee! Registration begins at 7:45. Prized awarded for fun run and four age groups in the 5k
  • 8:00 am to dusk. Plane Rides by Morgan Aviation. $30 per seat
  • 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Petting Zoo and Pony Rides sponsored by Skowhegan Savings Bank.
  • 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Live Music by Matt Gagnon sponsored by Nickerson Yard Maintenance & Hardware.
  • 10:30 am. Cornhole Tournament. sponsored by Waste Management. No entry fee! Bring your own partner. 1st place team: $300; Runner-up: $100
  • 2:00 pm. Candy Drop, sponsored by Morgan Aviation and Gale Associates


Monday, September 1 - Downtown & Oosoola Park

  • 9:00 am. Oosoola Days Parade. lineup begins at 8:30am at Mill Stream Elementary School. Parade starts at 9 and runs from the school, down Main Street, to Oosoola Park
  • 10:00 am. Opening Ceremonies. let the fun begin as we welcome guests of all ages to participate in a day full of fun at Oosoola Park on the Kennebec River.
  • 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Mr. Drew & His Animals Too, sponsored by the Norridgewock Public Library
  • 10:30 am. Horseshoe Tournament. sponsored by the Lambert's Auto Body. No entry fee! 1st place team: $300; 2nd place: $100.
  • 12:00 noon. Historical Society Duck Drop. Purchase ducks for $5 each at the Norridgewock Town Office during normal hours or you can purchase from the Historical Society's table at the airport on 8/31 or in Oosoola Park on 9/1 until 11:00 am.
  • 12:05 - 1:00 am. Magic Fred the Musician. sponsored by the Olver Associates. Join Magic Fred for his high-energy, interactive magic show that will keep the whole family laughing, engaged, and amazed. He'll be performing under the gazebo at Oosoola Park!
  • 1:00 pm. Annual Frog Race. Bring your own frog! Last chance to sign up is at 12:30. Children's race will begin first, followed by intermediate and adult races.
