Biosolids Processing Facility
The Town of Norridgewock has received a Site Plan Review application from Maine Regional Conversion Facility, LLC, for a proposed biosolids processing facility (BPF) to be located on a portion of the parcel of land identified by the Town as Map 14, Lot 9. The parcel is owned by Waste Management Disposal Services of Maine, Inc. The Planning Board approved the application and issued its Findings of Fact, Conclusions, and Notice of Decision on August 17, 2023
The proposed location for the BPF will be on the south side of the access road to the Phase 14 landfill. It is located at the site of the former tire processing facility, which closed in 2022. The proposed development will take place within approximately 3 acres. Building structures will total approximately 18,100 square feet.
